After another victory in the Norwegian championship Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson are on their way to prepare for the next weekends rally in Wales. Even with intercom problems and the fact that the rally was brand new, Østberg and co-driver Andersson won this weekend round in the Norwegian Championship.
– It was a great rally and a very good test for us before we’re heading towards Wales, Østberg says.
Wales Rally GB is important in many ways – Østberg is only two points behind Petter Solberg on third overall, and are ready to fight hard to get on the podium.
– I really like this rally and have done a good job her over the last years. A year ago I came second, so the podium is what we’re going for, he says.
Equally important is to show the factory teams what he is able to perform.
– I think we’ve done a good job this season and this may be the last rally before the teams decide whom they want with them, so we have to be at our very best.
On Monday the duo will take the Ford Fiesta WRC for a test, before recce on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday it’s time for shakedown, before the rally starts Friday morning.
– We know what we’re able to perform here, and will do our best to show it this year as well, Østberg says.
