Mads Østberg has just finished his best tarmac rally in the World Championship. Now he’s the best Norwegian man in the overall standings.

Rallye de France Alsace last day stands as Østbergs best day on asphalt throughout his whole career. Sunday the duo came second on three of the stages, the other three they came third.
– It’s been a good rally for us. It has been a huge fight from start to finish and we got better and better throughout the event. We dropped a position today but we set some really good stage times, so I’m really happy. This has been one of the best Tarmac events ever for me, Østberg says.

Rallye de France Alsace gave Østberg and co-driver Jonas Andersson 11 important points. Petter Solberg crashed on Saturday, which means Østberg is the best Norwegian driver overall in the World Championship, but now Jari-Matti Latvala is third.
– That doesn’t mean we have given up this fight. We’re ready to give our best in Italy in two weeks, he says.
